The ancient city where the Trojan War, which is also known as the famous Iliad is thought to have come out of Homer’s pen. Troy, Troia, or Troy, as we know it. Unfortunately, many parts removed from the ancient city which was only able to be inserted into the National Park status in 1996, is today unfortunately scattered to Germany and Russia. The ancient city has also been on the World Heritage List since 1998. The ancient city of Troy is located in Canakkale.
Trojan horse Story
According to the story, the Akhalis cannot conquer Trojan in any way despite years of struggle. They ask for help from the gods while they are about to give up after a siege. With the idea of the gods, they make it as if they gave up the war and they retreat. As they retreat, they leave troops in the horse’s court at the city’s door. When the Trojans celebrating with the cries of joy enter the horse, they are confronted with a painful surprise waiting for them at night.
Today the horse in the ancient city is a model made in 1975 by a Turkish artist reinterpreted in the light of old information.
Troy Antique City Visiting Times and Days
The ancient city is open every day of the week. For the ancient city which opens its doors at 08:00 in the morning, the door closes at 07:30 p.m. in summer and at 05:00 9.m. in winter. But if you are waiting for a tour to take you in for at least a couple of hours, it is good for you to be here before these hours.

Troy Antique City Entry Fee
If you have a Museum Card, you can go inside for free because the museum is connected to the Ministry of Culture. If you do not have a museum card, you have to pay 25 TL for the entrance fee.
Where and How to Get to Troy Antique City
Troy ancient Place is located in Canakkale Province and Tevfikiye Village
To reach the “Orenyer” in Canakkale Tevfikiye, you will have to pass the 5-kilometer road which is at Canakkale-İzmir Road 30. Km and in the Troya National Park also leads to the Naked and Tevfikiye villages. If you want to go by public transport, you can also reach the ancient city by bus or minibusses which are getting off the city center.
