In the east of the Turkish Riviera is the seaside resort Alanya, which has been popular for many decades due to the pleasant climate of the holidaymakers. In the city centre is located the famous Damlataş Cave, which was discovered in 1948 during construction work on the territory of the port. Inside, the walls of the cave are framed by beautiful stalagmites, which geologists call a unique phenomenon of nature. The cave is fully equipped for excursions. Next to the cave is a beautiful beach and a small market where you can buy handicrafts and souvenirs.

An important architectural landmark is the medieval fortress of Alanya Castle, which was built in the 13th century. In the Middle Ages, the castle was a powerful defensive fortification. Now most of the outbuildings are destroyed, but the main property has remained fairly well preserved.

The symbol of Alanya is the Kızıl Tower, which is located in the harbour area. The height of the octagonal tower is 33 meters. Its construction served as the main material of red brick. It is noted that the name of the building can be translated literally “Red Tower”.
