Lisbon (Lisboa) is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of history. The capital of Portugal since the Muslim conquest of 1147, it is extremely friendly and lively, with a series of activities demanding attention … well, at least for the first few days. As our society friends recently came to us, there are many more in Portugal, if you meet with a taste Lisboa. In fact there is so much to do in this relatively small country to explore, we argue about what happened to our favorite destinations in the list below with.
So if you find, even with several days in Lisbon for your vacation, why not the best, bored of your holiday on the left, and rent a car on the way? We suggest the following routes – all in a day’s round trip drive from Lisbon.
Excursion 1 Porto
Do not stop on the way, as there is plenty to do in Porto – Lisboa rival city. Snapshots in the neighborhood of the cathedral, try the sushi and ceviche on the incredible quarter of Ribeira Riverside, Bolhão part of the market, a shop in the Baixa (downtown). And, of course, be sure to stop by the Museum of Port Wine (and then try some of the same name).
Day 2: Quelus – Sintra Azenhas do Mar – Cabo de Roca
Visit the museum Palácio de Queluz, one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe. Take a look at the crow flies, Sintra, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, or from the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. Keep in Azenhas do Mar coastal (for a specialty octopus), and a look at the lighthouse at Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Europe. But keep your hat, because it gives you a powerful sea breeze could be met.
3 Day Trip: Cascais – Estoril
Give yourself the royal treatment and the Spanish kings’ favorite port of Cascais (You can also visit the castle ruins or the local marine park) tan. 4 day trip: Oeiras and Carcavelos

Try the local wine and walking on the sand at the Forte de São Julião da Barra, Oeiras.
5 day trip: Fatima – Nazare – Obidos
Take a pilgrimage to the chapel at the Cova da Iria, where Our Lady of Fatima appeared to be, then visit the great basilica dedicated to St. Peter is bigger than Rome. We recommend the fishing village of Nazare and the end of the day within the walls of the medieval town of Obidos.
Day 6: The Alentejo (Azeitão – Évora – Estremoz)
Pamper yourself in the wine region of Alentejo. Do you have a famous breakfast pastries and artisan cheeses from Azeitão namesake. Once a World Heritage city of Evora, visit the market and the Roman temples. Let us surprise you with random stops in many leading wineries on the way to the medieval town of Estremoz marble.
7-day trip: Parque Natural Arrabida – Sesimbra – Setúbal
Go for a bike ride or a diving Arrábida Natural Park. Conduct a comparative tasting of seafood and the beach on the coast between the fishing village of Sesimbra and Setúbal
