The structure that Abbas Hilmi Pasha, the Egyptian Khedive (head vizier) built in 1907 on the backsides of Cubuklu district is used as a mansion of Abbas Hilmi Pasha and his family for a while with the removal of him from his charge in Egypt.
With the departure of Abbas Hilmi Pasha from Istanbul in the 1930s, the mansion was purchased by the municipality and was left unused and idle until 1982. With restoration works started in 1982, the mansion, which started to serve as a restaurant and cafe in 1984, is now operated as a cafe and restaurant by BELTUR and can also host special occasions such as birthday celebrations, weddings etc.
It is one of the greatest places for those who want to make a nice breakfast in Istanbul and sip a cup of coffee against the unique view because of the history, scenery and the greenery of it. It is a unique place that we can definitely recommend to those who want to make a trip to the recent history of Istanbul and spend a nice weekend.
