Yosemite Firefall National Park

Yosemite Firefall National Park

Yosemite’s Firefall is a seasonal falls near El Capitan. It’s real name I believe is Horsetail Falls and is called firefall briefly in late winter because the setting sun hits then water just right to make it look like it’s on fire. Arriving a bit after prime time I was not expecting much but seeing the light clearly hitting so wispy water, I pulled over for a better look. As the sun set for a brief moment the falls glowed a light orange color, making it feel like lava was pouring from the cliff. Luckily I had my new 300mm zoom and was able to see the little waterfall from nearly 3,000 feet below in the valley floor
